Did you know Karen and Board Member Agelia Perez Marquez attended APAP: Association for Performing Artist Presenters in January? APAP is a conference with over 3000 attendees and 1000 showcases. It's great to see how vibrant our field is.
- Did you know that three TDG company members got engaged & married last fall? Jenny Tidwell (now Dodson), Erica Lewis (now Okoronkwo), & Thomas Henderson.
- Did you know that the Houston contemporary dance community has seen three pregnant dancers performing over last few years? Toni Valle started the trend with her memorable Butoh solo over 6 years ago. More recently Bonnie Collins & Jodie Engle have been seen with rounded bellies in Hope Stone performances.
- Did you know that former TDG dancer Julie Fox finished getting her Master of Fine Arts in dance at Ohio State University Fall 2009? Her thesis concert was the same weekend as The Recycle Club in Columbus Ohio. She is now teaching at Denison College in Ohio.
- Did you know that TDG dancer Teresa Chapman is also a Professor of Dance at the University of Houston? And has a dog name Sid?
- Did you know that our very own triple threat Brent Smith came back (from NYC) to Houston to perform with us at the Wortham in the Dance/USA conference showcase? We are waiting for him to move back permanently! (Don't tell anyone, but he's addicted to mafia games on Facebook . . . )
- New news on Brent! He's getting his pre-reqs done to go to grad school in PT . . . "merde" Brent!
